I just read from CNET News about Palm new product Foleo,. After doing some review about this product, I came up with my own conclusion. The idea is great, but Palm should have invented this thing years ago. But today, this idea would seem really foolish for me.

* Editors for Word, Excel and PowerPoint, plus a PDF viewer
* Compact, stylish design that fits on an airline tray table
* Lightweight at 2.5 pounds
* Fast, simple and intuitive navigation
* 5-hour battery life
* Linux OS for easy application development
* All of these for a price of $499!

From those capabilities, i see that :

• With a cost of $499, i would prefer to buy myself a low-priced notebook!
• Notebook has more capabilites than this thing.
• With this size, I prefer to bring notebook as my mobile companion than Foleo
• The only advantage of this thing for me is the instant on / off, but IMO people would not mind wait for few minutes of booting time.
• There are only small market for this products (maybe that’s why palm sell this thing so expensive) and a i do not think that it is really worthed
• The name Foleo is just sound like Polio ( a kind of disease )

So for me Palm Foleo is a bad idea, but maybe after a few years Palm could prove it wrong. Who knows?
